Third-Party Risk in Financial Services Procurement

For the people at the front door of every third party: sourcing, contracting and onboarding. Plain language, no risk jargon, and a commercial lens throughout, so risk knowledge becomes leverage in the deal rather than extra workload.

Who it is for

Built for the Procurement and Supply Chain seat.

Procurement leads, category and sourcing managers, supplier relationship managers, contract managers and supply chain professionals inside financial services organisations and the businesses that supply them. You are not a risk specialist and this course does not try to make you one. It shows you where risk sits in the work you already do, and how to use it.

By the end of the course you will be able to

Outcome

Describe how each of the eight risk domains plays out in procurement practice, and identify where risk awareness creates value rather than delay.

Outcome

Apply a risk-informed approach to each stage of the procurement lifecycle: sourcing, contracting, onboarding and ongoing governance.

Outcome

Identify the APAC third-party risk issues most likely to shape procurement decisions over the next one to three years: cloud concentration, AI in supplier products, country risk and data localisation.

Outcome

Use risk knowledge as a negotiation tool to improve commercial outcomes, supplier commitments and the strength of the contract.

Curriculum

Three shared foundations, then four modules built for your seat.

The first three modules are shared across all four Academy courses. Modules four to seven are written for Procurement and Supply Chain, with a sourcing scorecard, a capabilities checklist and a negotiation playbook to take away.

How it runs

Self-paced. Assessed. Certificate on passing.

Knowledge checks

A short check after each module

Three to five questions, not graded, with feedback on every answer. Each check unlocks the next module.

Final assessment

20 questions, pass mark 70 percent

Questions are drawn from a pool. Three attempts, then a 24-hour lockout before further attempts. Completion is recorded only when you pass.

Certificate

Module-level objectives and CPD hours

Your certificate records your name, the full course title, the completion date, the learning objectives you met and your CPD hours.

Downloads and CPD

Tools you use the day you finish the module.

This course comprises 4.25 hours of structured, assessed learning (video, knowledge checks, activities and a graded final assessment, pass mark 70 percent).

Claim 4.25 hours with bodies that use a 60-minute hour, including IIA and SFC Hong Kong, and record it under your CIPS CPD plan. Claim 5.0 CPE with ISACA (50-minute basis). Check your own body's rules on self-directed, verifiable CPD before claiming.
